Inmate’s death at OPP raises questions about investigation

The article discusses the recent death of an inmate at the Orleans Parish Prison.  The inmate was reportedly found by another inmate, who said that he was not moving.  The inmate had only been in the jail for a week.  He missed his first hearing because, as a report states, he was in five point restraints and on suicide watch.  Other inmates reported that the deceased inmate was subjected to excessive use of force by officers.

According to the article, there have been 37 deaths at the OPP since 2006.  This death is currently under investigation.
