OH: Sheriff departments in Stark, Summit and Portage discuss collaboration

Great article on proposed collaboration between sheriffs’ departments in Ohio.  It may be driven by budget cuts and staffing deficits, but hopefully the collaboration will be a foundation for future years and will reduce costs for Ohio taxpayers.

From the article: “Suggestions included: Buying a bus to transport prisoners from all three counties in one vehicle, combining SWAT teams, creating a multi-county drug task force and sharing computer software among the jails that would allow the facilities to more easily exchange information and could help investigators gather information.”  Read more here.
